How do you get over someone that you love?

I've been with this guy off and on for 5 years. Recently we broke up. He met some girl off myspace, went to see her, caught feelings for her. He says he only cares for her but he doesnt love her, and he wants to work things out with me. But he won't leave this girl alone. I love him with all my heart, but after all the hurt he's put me through I can't take it anymore. How do you get over someone that you love so much?

i am not an expert but I believe that you can not be in love with someone who does not love you back. Love is an action not a feeling. If he loved you then he wouldn't have gone on to myspace looking for someone else in the first place.

Think about it do you really want to be off and on with someone for the rest of your life.

If you really want to be with this guy then make him work for it. Don't give in too quickly.

First off all he needs to leave this myspace chick alone. His feelings for her can't be that deep if they just met. And don't let him tell you that he can't because its not a matter of want he can do but what he will do.

Is he willing to do what it takes to do right by you and make you happy?

Forget about what he says. What do his actions tell you?

Getting over him will not be easy

Trust me I went through this with my highschool sweetheart. I made it through thouggh by not having any conttact with him what so ever. if he has stuff at your place or you have things at his place return it or go and get it. Don't give him a reason to come by.

Also hang out with friends more often

make sure that this is what you really want.

Find someone new to hang out with, dont get into a relationship with any one else yet. keep yourself busy. One day you will realize that you haven't thought about him all day!!!

Things will be hard but you really have to believe that you deserve something better then what he is willing to give you.
